The Week Charlestown Becomes the Turn: A Resident's Guide to Sail Boston 2026
The parade route bends at your front yard. From Saturday, July 11 through Thursday, July 16, the flotilla that enters Boston Harbor from Broad Sound will pass Castle Island, glide up the main channel, and turn at Charlestown before proceeding to berths. That turn is the physical center of Sail Boston 2026, and it happens in water most of us walk past every evening on the Harborwalk.
If you own a home in the 02129, this is not a spectator event to travel to. It is a week of altered geometry inside your own neighborhood. Eighteen ships are berthing on your side of the harbor. Ferry service you might use to reach downtown is suspended during the parade. The Orange Line is about to become your front door.
